Final Cut Pro does not see the RT effects even if the enabler is at the right place in the FCP 3 preferences.
If these effects are not appearing in bold then something is corrupt
in FCP or your system. Try throwing away your FCP Preferences and MOA Cache file.
If you still experience problems, reinstall Final Cut Pro and get the
latest update (3.0.4) from Apple.

Protools crashes and I get the following error:
"The PCI bus is too busy for DAE to communicate reliably with the audio hardware. (-6042)".
ProTools makes heavy use of the PCI bus. This is why
you can get PT "PCI bus busy" errors with seemingly small projects. PT uses
upwards of 70-80% of available system bandwidth at a high priority level
stalling all other functions including the OS and QT for long periods of
time. First you should go thru the set-up recommendations in the manual as
settings like "Thousands of Colors" are a must. Since PT is extremely power
hungry and video can easily use more bandwidth than your PT session we
recommend using 1/2 size screen (360x243) at around 600 K/sec and lowering the
disk cache to 1024k, though you may be able to run much higher or lower than this
depending on your system and PT session.
Also, our new driver allows you to minimize PCI usage with the
option to turn off "Mirror on Desktop" to help this issue.
Digi has certified the IgniterX and OS X for use with ProTools,
but you will need to check with them for a particular problem
and solution.

I use an Aurora card along with Pro Tools and I have been experiencing
little jerks during playback in the last few months.
The ATA Raid controller is not approved for use in OS X and is not on our recommended list.
Many manufactures have found that this controller no longer works in OS X as it did in OS 9. Have them remove it and the RAID will be fine.

I would like to create presets that utilize other bit rates of compression,
other than 1:1, 1.5:1, 10:1 and so on.
The presets are there as a starting point. If you want others then
you may duplicate the 2MB/second or Uncompressed preset that
was installed with the driver. You may download and edit them as you need and then
save them off. Remember to set a different datarate limit before
saving them off.

Is there an Aurora Codec for Quicktime and Windows?
We do not currently offer native Windows codecs for our card. However, the
MJPEG-A QuickTime format is standard in QT for the Mac, and is compatible
with the MJPEG-A codec includes with QuickTime for Windows.
The Mac's QuickTime Motion
JPEG-A and Aurora's MJPEG-A interoperate.
|
Is it possible to play movies exported by the Aurora card on a Macintosh system without an Aurora card installed?
Yes. Copy our MJPEG-A or Uncompressed codec to that machine.
|
Does the IgniterX card include a port for a second monitor or do I need
a separate card for that? If so, what is recommended?
The IgniterX does not include a port for any computer monitor.
We support Composite, Component, S-Video, and SDI video outputs.
